Mark Patrick Collins: Within the next 2-5 years the FAA will develop the safety regulations that will allow large unmanned aircraft systems (LUAS) to operate with other manned aircraft in the U.S. It is my goal to work with the FAA and industry to develop the infrastructure, technical know-how, and establish the customer base to operate large unmanned cargo aircraft in the National Airspace System (NAS). Developed by a multi-disciplinary and international team of volunteers, expert in their respective fields. We are engineers, visionaries & inventors passionate about innovative technologies and large-scale aeronautical projects.

The goal is not to demonstrate solar efficiency in emerging technologies or as a source of the vehicles of tomorrow but to arrive at a world-wide commercialization of solar unmanned logistics transport with a capacity of payload of 35kg and more, propelled by solar energy. Innovative Concept of Unmanned Cargo Aircraft – Presented by Raffaello Cesoni and Cristina Ballesio, Nimbus, at the Unmanned Cargo Aircraft Conference, on November 23, 2017, at Rivalta di Torino, Italy.

The Metaplano represents a new air transport solutions that exceed the limits of traditional cargo and people transportation. The project came from the desire to join the airship and traditional aircraft advantages. In one hand the Metaplano provides high flight maneuverability and does not have the problem of the mooring systems compared to the airship. In the other hand it is able to take-off and land in short and unprepared runways compared to the traditional aircraft. The Metaplano fills the market requests such as the low environment impact, the low life cycle costs and the capability to connect hard-to-reach areas with no or limited infrastructures. Flirtey will deliver defibrillators to 911 callers to help treat cardiac arrest (VIDEO)

Flirtey has formed a partnership with REMSA Health, a provider of ambulance and emergency health services in the state of Nevada. Flirtey and REMSA plan to dispatch a drone to deliver a portable defibrillator whenever a 911 caller in the area reports symptoms of cardiac arrest.

Far from the spotlight of the media, technologies are developed that can significantly change aviation – and society- especially when applied jointly. Two of them are 3D printing and quantum computers. Perhaps you do not think of aviation right away. But these technologies can profoundly change aviation, and may have a major impact on tomorrow’s world.

3D printing, also known as additive manufacturing, is a technique by which an object is constructed in thin layers, as if a printer does not apply one layer of ink to paper, but layer after layer. The significant advantage is that more and more items can be manufactured wherever and whenever they are needed. This saves time and transport costs. Experiments are already conducted with 3D printing of food. In combination with nanotechnology, which can change properties of materials considerably, the possibilities seem unlimited.

“Long-Range Cargo Unmanned Aerial Vehicle for Wide Range of Applications” – Presented by Anthony Pizarro & Bruno Doerwald, Romaeris Corporation, at the Unmanned Cargo Aircraft Conference, June 13, 2017, Maaspoort, Venlo, The Netherlands.

Romaeris Corp. is designing a cargo unmanned aircraft capable of carrying loads of 250 Kg for distances of up to 1,800 Km at low cost without relying on airport infrastructure. The aircraft requires a flight controller incorporating artificial intelligence and will be equipped with a telemetry system to allow aircraft health monitoring and compliance with government regulations for beyond visual line of sight missions. The aircraft development program has been supported to date by Canadian federal and provincial governments and two universities.
