Distretto Tecnologico Aerospaziale is a diffusive test and research place where researchers and stakeholders can experiment with new forms of mobility and logistics, with the goal of:

  • Increasing knowledge on the topics of autonomous driving and Smart Cities.
  • Increasing the capacity of Local Entities – i.e. public administration, research, and business – promoting innovation and exploring new business models.
  • Attracting capital and investment, thereby improving the competitive positioning of the economy – local and national.

UAM, AAM, Drone and UAV – What’s In A Name?

These days, people refer to them as “drones”. But drones are not Urban Air Mobility (UAM) and UAM isn’t an Unmanned Air Vehicle. So why all the fuss about names? We’ll to begin with, one segment of Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) has been around for over 100 years. This presentation will explain the differences – and why such differences “make a difference” thank just a name.
