UCA around the corner? – Presented by Hans Heerkens, Assistant Professor, University of Twente / Chairman, Platform Unmanned Cargo Aircraft, at  Unmanned Cargo Aircraft Conference, which will take place on November 28, 2018, at RAI Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

For years, UCA have been in silent development. Now, the first operational UCA services are about to start. But while small companies often initiate innovations, large organizations are needed to spread them. UCA infrastructure is a public good, and the recognition of this will help to determine the competitive power of operators and of countries and regions. "Drones and the Search for Responsible Innovation" – Presented by Irna van der Molen, University of Twente / Twente Safety & Security

Drones and UAVs have enormous potential in transport and logistics, for inspections of infrastructure, industry, or buildings; in entertainment and photography; in emergency response, and in the security domain. Despite the economic and societal potential, the use of drones and UAVs also raise political and public debate. Questions on privacy, on safety and security, or liability are inevitable and legitimate questions. What are the potential future implications of drone technology on human beings, social practices, and society? Can we think of a precautionary legal and ethical framework that connect drone design, use and policy with our values? When is innovation responsible innovation? This presentation addresses these issues, and will actively engage the audience in sharing experiences.
