The presentation will be about LOGAM – Low Cost GNSS attitude and navigation system with inertial MEMS aiding.
LOGAM project is cofounded by GSA, under FP7 framework, and its objective is the design and development of an ultra low-cost attitude determination and navigation systems based primarily on non dedicated mass market GNSS receivers and antennas and aided by MEMS inertial sensors. Accuracy at low cost is needed in different real-time applications, such as UAVs. The first prototype has already been fabricated , demonstrating the targeted system characteristics. A second version is currently being developed, and by the end of the project flying tests will be performed.
Esther López Casariego was born in 1979 in Santander, Spain. She received her M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering in 2003 and joined Erzia Space in the same year, participating in ESA research projects dealing with on-board communication systems. Since 2006 she is within ACORDE, where she has participated in MMIC design and has been responsible of the execution of several EU and National projects dealing with advanced RF communication. In 2010 she became the Head of the R&D department and since 2011 she is the Manager of the Intercommunication and Control Systems division, coordinating both R&D projects and product developments.
