About Drone Centre Twente

At present there are insufficient test locations for remote controlled aircrafts in the Netherlands. Therefore companies choose to test their drones abroad. Builders of drones and researchers have an urgent need for space to test safely with drones. Also for the practical training required for drone pilots per July 1, 2015 such special locations are needed.

Airport Twente has excellent facilities for training, testing and simulation flights with drones. A test and development location for drones fits well with the Twente Campus Safety, a rapidly developing area with high-quality training facilities for first responders from home and abroad.
