UNC unveils drone to film football practice

When you think of drones, you think of armies trying to use them in combat. Think again.

The University of North Carolina held its first day of practice, and the Tar Heels had a new member of the team – a drone. UNC revealed the new item in a photo released on Twitter, which showed the drone, which carries a camera, hovering over practice.

Football coaches from Bear Bryant to Vince Lombardi  to, well, Larry Fedora have watched film of practices for decades to see how their players are performing.

But drones? That appears to be a relatively new phenomena. The University of Tennessee unveiled a drone in spring practice this year, according to The Sporting News.
