Unmanned aircrafts become increasingly popular for a number of applications, also in the context of transportation and logistics. However, at the moment, prototypes exist at best and cargo flights occur as an exception rather than the rule. Companies and business models develop around unmanned cargo aircrafts, but what is their current status and what can we envision for the future? In this presentation, we will discuss entry possibilities for unmanned cargo aircraft applications, market requirements and developments, as well as future challenges for the cargo industry.
